Treffen is only 10 minutes from Villach (8km) and only a few minutes from the 11km long Ossiach lake. Due to the pleasant water temperature (up to +28°C in summer), the lake is ideal for a successful bathing and active holiday for the whole family. For those who love culture, the annual Carinthian summer at Lake Ossiach, a rendezvous of the greats of contemporary music, is certainly well known, but also excursions to interesting sights in the vicinity such as the alpine and mountain farmer's museum on the Gerlitzen Alpe, the adventure thermal baths in Warmbad Villach, the Burgarena Finkenstein or the eagle flight show at Burg Landskron definitely make a holiday on Lake Ossiach an experience.

Summer

In the summer, the close proximity of the warm Ossiachersee is ideal for families looking for relaxing holidays. This tourist destination has witheld its natural beauty and its ecosystems are intact. On the one side there are the green pastures of the Gerlitzen Alpes which form the most beautiful destinations due in large to the lack of cars (from May to Oct) and the startling blue waters of the Ossiachersee. There is a large diversity od attractions here for a fun holiday: fishing, paragliding, tennis, mountain biking, sailing or surfing, kiter flying, rowing, swimming, water skiing or cycling. There are also 2 minigolf courses, diving and a summer sled course as well as riding close by. With the "Keerntner Discount Card," you receive a whole variety of discounts, such as to the museum, outdoor and indoor swimming pool, to the beach, mountain lifts and a discounted use of the public transport.

Winter

Professional ski and snowboarding schools for beginners and professionals at Gerlitzen/Kanzelhoehe, 6 km, at Verditz, 11 km, or at Afritz, 9 km. The Gerlitzen-Alpe is a snowboarders "Eldorado," with a funpark and halfpipe as well as a private snowboarding landscape. Ideal for skiiers as well with perfect skii runs. Ski season from Nov to April, snow is guaranteed. The Gerli-Schneebaerenland is ideal for children as well as the Zwergerl skiing school. By taking the Kanzelbahn/Gipfelbahn mountain lifts, you can ascent to an altitude of 1.911 m in 20 minutes. Further activities include: curling, sled rides, snow treks with snow schoes or cross country skiing.
